Fair Oaks Street Oil Paintings

While painting plein air, I stumbled upon this cottage on Fair Oaks Street in San Francisco. At the time, I was experimenting with heavy oils, and I loved working with naples yellow and cad yellow deep. While painting, I focused on the transition from winter to spring on the street, when the tree began to blossom. The use of fat oils brought some wonderful effects that are unique to this medium.
